Electrophoretic coating is a coating method in which the workpiece and the corresponding electrode are put into water-soluble paint, and after connecting the power supply, relying on the physicochemical effect produced by the electric field, the resin and pigment filler in the paint are uniformly precipitated and deposited on the surface with the coated object as the electrode to form the paint film insoluble in water.
Electrophoretic coating is an extremely complex electrochemical reaction process, which includes at least four processes of electrophoresis, electrodeposition, electroosmosis and electrolysis. Electrophoretic coating can be classified into anodic electrophoresis (the workpiece is an anode, and the paint is anionic) and cathodic electrophoresis (the workpiece is a cathode, and the paint is a cationic) according to the deposition performance.


    Electrophoretic coating is a special coating film formation method developed in the past 30 years, which is the most practical construction process for water-based coatings. It is characterized by water solubility, non-toxicity, easy automatic control, etc. It is rapidly and widely used in automobile, building materials, hardware, home appliances and other industries.

    Classification

    Electrophoretic coating equipment can be divided into two categories: continuous passing type and intermittent vertical lifting type.
    Continuous passing type electrophoresis equipment is composed of assembly line, which is suitable for large batch coating production and widely used in industry; while intermittent vertical lifting type, the initial form of which is adopting monorail electric hoist with manual control, is suitable for smaller batch coating operation. In recent years, with the progress of computer technology, mechatronics technology is developing rapidly, with microcomputer control of vertical lift program-controlled trolley has been applied in the coating production line, it is the same batch of electrophoresis equipment through the same batch compared to the length of the production line is significantly shortened, and has the advantage of flexible changes in the process, the people's attention.

    Equipment Composition

    The equipment for electrophoretic coating is composed of electrophoretic tank, stirring device, filtering device, temperature regulating device, paint management device, power supply device, water washing device after electrophoretic coating, ultrafiltration device, drying device, and backup tank.

    1.Tank body
    According to the different conveying methods of workpieces, the tank body is divided into two forms: boat-shaped tank and rectangular tank. Generally, the boat-shaped tank is suitable for continuous passing electrophoretic coating production line, and the rectangular tank is suitable for intermittent vertical lifting electrophoretic coating production line.

    2.Circulation stirring system
    The circulating and stirring system is divided into inner and outer parts. The function is to ensure the uniformity of the composition and temperature of the paint in the whole electrophoresis tank and prevent the paint pigment from settling.

    3.Electrode device
    Electrode device consists of electrode plate, diaphragm cover and auxiliary electrode.

    4.Temperature control system
    Generally, the temperature of electrophoretic coating is 20~30 degrees Celsius, and the temperature of lacquer will rise obviously when the temperature is high or in continuous production. In order to ensure the quality of lacquer film, it is necessary to cool the lacquer, and it can be cooled by circulating underground water, cooling tower, or forced cooling by freezing machine. In the cold climate of the winter is required to warm up heating, heat exchanger jacket, serpentine tube, flat plate and tube type a variety of, in addition to the jacket structure, the other heat exchangers can be used with the help of the external circulation system of the circulating pump, so that the paint through the heat exchanger for cooling or heating.

    5.Paint replenishment device
    The replenishment device consists of paint replenishment tank, electric stirrer, filter and liquid pump, etc. It is set near the electrophoresis tank and connected to the tank with pipes and valves.

    6.Ventilation system
    For continuous passing type electrophoresis tank, top ventilation device can be adopted, which is composed of extraction hood, centrifugal fan, exhaust pipe and so on. For vertical lifting type electrophoresis tank, only the air extraction method at the side of the tank can be used in general.

    7.Power supply device
    Grounding method: there are two kinds of cathode grounding and anode grounding, and the anode grounding can be divided into electrode grounding and body grounding.
    Energizing mode: There are two ways to energize the electrophoresis workpiece into the tank and energize the electrophoresis workpiece after entering the tank.
